Hey my name is April. I'm new at hatching eggs. Not been successful with water inside the incubator this time I'm doing a dry incubator. My question is can I add more eggs later? And if I can how do you do it and still hatch the other eggs after you have added water?

Hi April

Even for dry incubation you need to keep your humidity at 25% so you may need to add some water. As for adding other eggs after your initial set this would be classed as a staggered hatch. Because you need at least 65% humidity for hatch this can affect your eggs that need lower humidity to be able to lose enough moisture. It could mean they don't loose enough over the incubation period. Have you also thought what you would do about clean up after hatch? Hatching is messy and the last thing you need is hatch gunk on your developing eggs. You would need to remove your younger eggs and give the incubator a good clean out before resetting them.
The other way around this is to have a second incubator just for hatching in, this is what I'm doing with some eggs I have set now. I have eggs on day 17 and day 5 in the same incubator. The day 17 eggs are going in another incubator tomorrow ready for hatch at 65% humidity.

I've never incubated eggs but Yorkshire coop has a lot of experience with that so you can count on her to tell you straight.
