I have haunted this site for about a year so, I guess it's time to introduce myself.
I'm Laurie and I'm addicted to chickens. We have about 30 - 40 chickens of mixed breeds, polish, silkie, bantam, cochin, one old english bantam rooster (best mama we've got) and barnyard mixes. Our main hobbies include chickens, planning coops for chickens and trying to keep them quiet so the neighbors don't mind then. The old english bantam (Alice Cooper) does not listen to anything we tell him though. We have a few pets: small dogs, cats, the chickens and an occasional snake that comes in our office to check for stray mice. (his name is Sneaky). It's just my husband, son and myself at the homestead but there are other family members who live close. Some with their own chickens as well. I've heard about BackYard Chickes a lot and throughly enjoy reading things posted on here. It's my go to resource.
