Hi. I am Shelbi (but I don't mind being called "Axion," either), and unfortunately, I don't have any chickens yet. But I plan to get them this spring. (I'm chicken-less! T^T So sad!)
But I love chickens. They're quirky, cute and make awesome pets, depending on the breed. That and farm-fresh eggs are the best.
My best friend growing up was a beautiful black Orpington-rock hybrid named Maggie, who I'd had since the second grade; she died when I was sixteen. I still miss her. I still have some of her feathers she molted, they currently sit in my jewelry box where I can see them every morning. I know I'll never get her back, but she will always have a little chunk of my heart; I'll never forget her.
But I plan on starting over and being the chicken-mama I know I can be. >w< (wow, that sounds dorky, but it's true.)
Sorry for being wordy; I hope to contribute positively to this forum. ^_^; I don't have any chicken-owning friends (everyone else around me is sick of hearing me talk about chickens!) so, hopefully I can make some friends here who are just as crazy about chickens as I am.
