Hello everyone! I am new to the chicken husbandry world and BYC. I have been using your expert advice for the last 4 months or so as I have begun my first flock from day old chicks (thanks for all the general info and most specifically on slipped tendon, I saved a chick thanks to the expertise here).
I have a small backyard flock. Right now 3-3 month old pullets, a Blue Maran, Buff Naked Neck (Turken), and a Golden Laced Wyandotte and 8-5 week old pullets, breeds unsure but maybe, Mottle Java, Barnvelder, and Silver Cuckoo Maran. I live in a suburban area (not technically zoned for chickens...shhhh). They are kept in a cooped area about 1/2 the time and allowed to free range in our lawn, flower, and vegetable garden the other 1/2 day before they return to the coop for the night, and sometimes they enjoy supervised socialization with our dog.

My son and our 3 month old blue maran. He loves his chickens, can even catch them himself.
