My chickens are walking around their pen with beaks open they got shade and water

Hi there!

Your in the UK yes? With the current heat we are having right now they sound like they are too hot. Mine are not coping very well either with the heat. Even in the shade they are still panting quite a bit. I've added some ice cubes in their water and they have just had some cool lettuce and cauliflower from the fridge.

Yea im in uk they both panting heavy I got shade for dem

sometimes they like to stand in a shallow pan of water. Like people if you cool the feet the body feels better. I can stand heat & humidity myself. Makes me miserable.

Great advice from drumstick there. Water is good, I've had the hose in the run today fir them to walk and mess about in. As its hot still even in the shade they will pant.
