(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Totally new & my sister gave me this rooster on November 13th 2017. He was pretty small then.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? Just this one for right now

(3) What breeds do you have?
Not sure but my sister's father raises champion gaming birds. And this is where skrappy came from.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? Just browsing for raising chicken info and coop plans.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I live on a farm and am currently starting out on wood & stone work + gardening

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I'm a homemaker and I live with my father in law and my husband, a carpenter. We have two houses on 20 acres and live on Salmon Creek. We're pretty rural here. I'm originally a city girl but I've been living here about 4 years. It's been a lot of hit and miss with most of my project's but Im getting better and stronger. Thanks for having me in your group!

Hello and welcome to BYC - thanks for joining us.

Here’s a link to the Articles section - https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/ There you’ll find lots of information on almost every aspect of keeping chickens - from coop building ideas, to incubating eggs.

There’s a link on the page above to the Learning Centre - it’s a great resource. If you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

Each week, various topics are discussed, which can also be a great resource - https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/topic-of-the-week-thread-archive

Glad you're here !

A must have for your poultry is a FIRST AID KIT for any issues that would arise. (https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/suggestions-for-a-first-aid-kit.1150128/)
It's definitely better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it.

Also, make sure your coop(s) have a proper amount of VENTILATION. (https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...-there-and-cut-more-holes-in-your-coop.47774/) Your chickens will absolutely thank you for it!

One last thing, if you're into gardening, feel free to join this years SEED SWAP (https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/seed-swap.1220129/)
