hi, i'm pretty's mom

pretty is about 5mos old wild wood duck we found in our front yard when it was about 4 days old. wanted to join so that i can read and ask questions about his well being.
want to know if anyone knows how to tell if a wood duck is happy being by himself.
Ducks aren't happy by themselves, you'll need a buddy!

In my opinion, I think ducks work better with one or more partners

thankyou so much for the info. i'll see what the husband says about clean up after 2.haha do you know how to tell if they are happy? pretty's not a quite duck, whistles very time we come in the room, wags his tail and boobs his head. however, he doesn't like to be picked up, but once held he's okay.

There is one thing you can always rely on to tell if a duck is happy. If a duck bobs its head back and forth like you said that is a sure sign. My ducks do that all the time I am about to feed them, and it shows they are excited to see you!!!
