I've had my little girls for over 30 years now--not the same one, of course. I call them little girls because most are bantams. I have a flock of 12 hens and a part silkie rooster. There are also 4 Chinese Crested that I got last year. I enjoy watching their interactions and the fresh eggs. Sometimes I have too many eggs so I can share with friends.

I'm an organic gardener and avid equestrian, but at 73 I'm slowing a bit on the riding. We have 2 cats, down from a high of 12-my aunt, sister and a friend passed and we inherited cats. We had it timed to have only geriatric cats by this period of our lives, but then, for the first time ever, a stray cat had kittens in the stable and we were unable to resist the one. Candy is now 6. Levi is 17. My horse, Bijou, is 20 this year and she's still a pistol to ride. But who wants to ride a dull horse.

I found BYC when searching for an answer for a hen who isn't acting right. Hope someone has an answer for me.
