Water glassing.
I've done my home work and checked every resource I could think of. Researched the actions of pickling lime.
The common knowledge is, that the saturated solution of pickling lime seals the pores of the eggshell.
Everyone says that only pristine eggs that are unwashed, should be waterglassed.
Here's my dilemma.
My research told me that gentle cleaning with water does nothing to alter the status of the bloom/cuticle.
So, if the lime seals the pores of the eggshell, what is wrong with gently washing the eggs in water.
I always have a few eggs with a trace of mud or poo.
Has anyone washed an egg then waterglassed it and had to go bad?
