Hi, I'm Sue!

Sue, regarding morning glories or what is more properly known as field bind weed there is a very good solution but you shouldn't use it near your pets or in your organic garden. for one spray bottle of mix put in 3 tablespoons of amine 2-4 D (an industrial strength fertilizer that acts as a herbicide), 3 table spoons of your favorite liquid fertilizer and fill with water put in a squirt of joy dish detergent (not the ultra but the old stuff- dollar general has them) shake well and curl up the bind weed then spray it all over. do not pull it up. it will eventually turn brown and blow away. it will kill the roots that are 20 ft below the surface. spray all the bind weed you see. 1 to two treatments and your yard will be free of it. you can use it in lawns but it will make a brown spot temporarily. after 5 years I have very few new bind weed and the old is all gone and it was all over. hope this helps.

What a great welcome - thank you all!

Bookdad - I believe mine is actually morning glory as I planted it from seed & it's an annual. It hasn't grown back since. My question was that I had pulled it all last fall after it went to seed & piled it in a corner where I'd like to put a chicken run. I can clean up the old dead plants, but since it went to seed I'm sure the seed is all over, it's a big pile! Thank you for taking the time to respond, I appreciate it. :)
