Good Morning everyone! I've read through your forum so many times when my google searches directed me here. I am personally new to raising chickens, although my parents kept them when I was young so I'm not a complete stranger to chickens. I am adopted mother to 26 dark Brahmas. 2 are claiming to be males but so far only one is looking like a male. They were ordered through Ideal poultry out of Texas and I think they look very healthy so far. They were hatched on April 23rd, 2014 which makes them 6 weeks at the time of this posting. My husband and I built a coop, 8x16 with floor to ceiling windows (repurposed old Pella Doors) which they love to stare out. They aren't let into their yard yet since I have flying predators and no chicken wire on top. I have a resident fox, hawks and an owl that live on my property so my chicks have penitentiary style living quarters. I recently planted a garden for them in their yard so when they do get in there they'll have fun destroying it all. Well, thanks for reading my info and it's nice to meet you!
