hi, incubator didnt hatch after 21 days, wat to do, my introduction

hi yeah, its my parents chickens, im 32, my parents have around 10 chickens

my dad is trying to use an incubator, but it didnt hatch after 21 days

he said in two days hes gona open it

and I told him about the water submerge test,, he said maybe, he doesnt really listen to me

anwaysy I dont know what to do

I know alittle bit about candling, I dont know what a live egg and a dead egg looks like with the candling

and I know abit about the water test, big bowl of water 100 degress, dont put an egg that has open already, otherwise drown

if it is mostly underwater and 10 percent is above its still got a chance

if it sinks all the its bad

I dont know what else to do, and what is my next step, help?

Heres a super helpful chart with candling. None should be bright like day 3-10 if theres any life they would be super dark and possibly moving with an air sac like day 19. Sorry none have hatched

hi thanks im very new to this, only started learning today, my dad wanted to incubate eggs

I guess since its 23 day, at night I will try candle the egg,too bright today, and see if has blood ring which is bad, and for normal signs, see if it looks like day 19 in the chart

and alot of cells I guess
and then do the water test , I dont have a water temperator thermometer, so I gues I will just make it warmish, chesmist says theres is $90, a youtuber says warmish water, pretend for baby

and it floats , 10 percent above, 80 percent below, keep it around

but my dad said hes gona throw them away anway, tomrow, , and try with new eggs, so I dont know, even if they float, hes gona start with new eggs

, and I got reply, says dont do float test might be bad for egg

but I only got till tomorow

before he tries with new eggs

Day 21 is not written in stone as a hatch day. If temps are a tad incorrect, they can hatch several days late. So you might at least take a flashlight and an egg into a dark room and shine the light directly into the large end of the egg. Be careful not to damage the egg. You should see an empty air cell and the rest all dark. If you see clear, the egg is not viable. Good luck!
