Hi I'm Kayleigh,
I've just joined backyard chickens to help me learn more and receive advice on my hens. I did have a Poland, lavender pekin and Malaysian serama but unfortunately a fox got in to my coop. I know only have my serama (Dotty). I am going to be getting her a friend ASAP. I have seen a speckledy pullet I love but not sure if I would b able to bond my serama and the pullet very easily? Could anyone give me some advice or tips please?
Thanks in advance

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. Sourland has given you some good advice. Chickens are gregarious and love company. If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is lots of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.

Welcome to Backyard chickens. I agree with Sourland's advice. Unless you would like to keep her as a house pet. Bantams seem to tolerate confinement well - at least seramas and silkies do. You may want to check out the thread "people with house chickens." and see if it sounds like a viable alterative for you.

Hello Kayleigh!

Welcome to BYC and the coop! There's a lot of great peeps here! Feel free to ask lots of questions. But most of all, make yourself at home. I'm so glad you decided to join the BYC family. I look forward to seeing you around BYC.

I'm sorry you lost some of your birds, that's always hard. As for other smaller chickens, bantams come in a lot of breeds. Just so you can see an example of what's out there, here's a link to Murray McMurray and their bantams:
https://www.mcmurrayhatchery.com/bantams_chicks.html
They have a pretty large minimum order but you may be able to buy a couple bantams on the buy-sell-trade forum (once you have 20 posts):

Good luck finding your lone bird some company!
