Hi Julie from Reno Nevada

The day is drawing near!! Good luck with all those little chicks!! They'll be nice and loud and messy for ya!

I am excited and nervous. I just called the post office. They Said that they will call to arrange a pickup, or they will deliver them before noon. I will pick them up, but I wonder, are the chicks always shipped on the day that they are supposed to be shipped. Will the hatchery send an email saying that they were shipped Getting the brooder ready tomorrow night.

Good luck with the chicks, hope they all arrive safely! What hatchery are they coming from? The commercial hatcheries almost always send out the chicks on time (occasionally there may be an error), most of them do send out emails, it should say on their website if they do, or you may be able to check the status of your order on the website...

Chickens for backyards. I talked to them Via email this morning and they send out an email with a tracking number. Setting up the brooder tonight. Mostly to get the dogs used to the sight of it in the kitchen. (kitchen! I know) but there is no other place for the babies right now.

I got some full grown Ameracaunas in the fall and added to them this week with a buff polish, brown leghorn and old English game hen. April 2nd I got a shipment of chicks, they are hanging out in the garage. I'm waiting to find out how many of my chicks are roos. I have a costco chicken coop in my back yard with an extended run and a home made chicken tractor in my front yard currently housing a duckling and turkey poult. I have a muscovy hen who is laying and hopefully going to go broody. I think this backyard flock is turning into an addiction :/

How ae things going with you?
