Hi. little fleas on my new poults?

Hi everyone, newbie here to byc and i just picked up my first 3 turkeys today to join my flock of 4 chickens of about a week. I will post pics soon as i think they are adorable but, the poults seem to have bunches of what look like little black fleas all over their little heads. i can pick them off with tweezer but it's ot easy and there's quite a few of them. any idea's what they are and how i can treat them? also, will my other chickens get them or is it a turkey thing? Thanks so much...

Most likely they are lice. Turkeys will also get a dark type that stays on shaft of feathers.

I use Sevin garden dust and it works on all types of lice and mites. Cheaper and easier to find that commercial poultry delouser.
