Hello there, from Norfolk, VA. Got these two Pekings on Easter and they are just a little over three months old now. Sexed them backwards at first and named the female Billy and the male Beakie. We thought Billy, now "Bllie," was the male because she was so much larger than the other one and started quacking loudly at one month old. Eventually I came across threads about "quack sexing" and learned that he was a she!!!! The male eventually grew much larger than the female and soon developed his "drake quack." It was so funny for the week leading up to him getting his drake vocals, he sounded just like a little dinosaur screeching and just about getting his "quack" out but not quite! That was when I started calling him "Raptor" and that has been his name ever since! So I have Billie-beak and Raptor! They are getting closer and closer to mating and I have been reading horror stories about a single female eventually getting injured by her male mate and am now looking into adding two adult females to the pair and making a beakie flock! I call them "beakies" haha! I am glad to be part of the BYC community!
