HI MY 2 CHICKS ARE ATTACKED BY RATSS!!!! HELP ME! HOW TO CURE THEM??

I would suggest to Poultrycrazy that the next time you have an open wound you try putting rubbing alcohol into it.

Rubbing alcohol is irritating toinjured tissues, slows healing, and caused increased inflammation and pain. It has no part in open wound treatment whatsoever.

Just sayin, but when my cousin's rooster got mauled by a dog and had part of his neck gone, we doused it with alcohol and neosporin. That's what save the rooster from all of the fly larvae growing in his neck and bacteria spreading to his bone which would have killed him with ease, he did all this with out ONE complaint! He lived a couple more years until he died sadly of arthritus.
P.S. I have probably put about a total of 1 bottle of alcohol on all of my open wounds and I NEVER complained. Peroxide has the same amount of hurt when you put it on a wound too.

If you would like I can refer you to medical texts that will tell you how toxic alcohol is to flesh. I imagine the wounds you have treated healed despite your treatment. My only objection to your statements is that they are ill-advised and not medically correct. You can, of course, do anything you want to yourself or your own birds.

No thank you. I believe you and I'm sorry to give false info. It's just that it worked for my cousins rooster I thought it would work for others. I hope I didn't put anyone's chickens in danger.

What do you reccomend as a topical antibiotic?

Neosporin, without pain killer...it is the cheapest and easiest to obtain. I would also get some antibiotics that I could put into water...Duramycin is one that comes to mind. Keep the little guy in a warm, dry, dark, safe place. I would say that he is in shock and needs time to recover. Put fresh food and water in with him and let him come around for a day. If he doesn't drink by tonight, I would use a dropper and drip the water into his beak. Poly vi sol, without iron, children's vitamins would be a great thing to help boost him right now. One or two drops on his beak twice a day would be perfect.

Thanks guys. However, i have to sadly announce that my chick had passed away last night.It was weak and breathing really hard.
Then, It died peacefully in my brother's hand.I wasnt at home that time and I was really shock to find my chick died when i was back.
I am really sad, simultaneously, wondering why my chick is still so weak even though it started eating and drinking(containing antibiotic).
It survived for the whole 4 days after the attack. It was actually doing a great job for the whole 3 days. I saw his tail facing downwards on the 4th day but i dint it was so weak and going to die before i went out.
