I am new to Backyard Chickens. Thanks so much for adding me to your group. I just recently aquired some Silkies; and, I am sure I am going to have lots of questions for the pros in this group.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!!

I don't keep Silkies but they sure are adorable! I do know that they can be less winter hardy than other breeds, they need extra vitamins added to their diet and they do best when kept with other Silkies. Keep the hair trimmed around their eyes too as many times they can't see well enough to eat or drink enough. Not trying to discourage you, but they need lots of attention paid to them along with lots of love.
