I am semi new to chicken keeping. I had chickens as a child/teen but I really only remembered the romantic parts of having chickens! I have 3 three week old bantam chicks and 1 four day old chick. I incubated 7 eggs for hatches but unfortunately this last round only produced 1 chick. The other 6 eggs were not fertilized, just a case of bad luck. I found out about BackyardChickens.com by googling what to do when you only have one new chick in a batch. I was worried about integrating her with older chicks. They ended up having no problem with a newbie joining the flock. I love gardening, baking, reading, playing with my kids and hanging with my husband. We have 3 dogs, 2 fish and now 4 chicks! Thanks for the add.

So glad you could join our community!

Sorry about the poor hatch. It happens sometimes. But I am super glad the one that hatched is doing well and in the flock now.

Make yourself at home here and if you have any questions about anything, feel free to ask.

Welcome to our roost! :)
