check out the "behaviours and egg laying" thread. I am sure someone will have some advice!

Hi Travis! I suggest you look at commercial nest boxes for inspiration for a nest box redesign: they are made so that the egg rolls out a chute after it is laid. No egg in box, no egg to eat!

! Pleased you joined our community! Egg eating is one of the toughest challenges of the chicken keeper. And, as you are discovering, can become contagious to other birds in the flock. I concur with Kikiriki - a roll-way nest box may be the solution. Good luck to you!

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan

- good luck with your egg eater, my solution has been to remove them from the flock permanantly.

Welcome to BYC. Partially darken the nest box by hanging a cloth over most of the opening. If nothing else works, Pinless Peepers may be effective.

Welcome to BYC - egg eaters are a real problem - sometimes it is due to diet deficencies, sometimes from plain old boredom. You have been given some good advice and threads to read for ways to hopefully combate it. You can see tho how it's chickens see, chickens do. I would put her elsewhere before she corrupts more innocent hens.
