I'm sorry you lost your grandfather, who was surely much more than just your poultry mentor. I understand what you're saying. My dad, who grew up as a farm boy and always had poultry and critters at our rural home when I was growing up, passed away weeks after I got my first chickens. There were so many things I wished I could have asked him.

Fortunately, there are plenty of nice folks here who will have great answers and are willing to share their expertise and experiences with you.
