Hello, I guess I'm the new bird on the block. I purchased my baby chicks two weeks ago and they are growing fast. I would like to build my chicken house on the side of my house. My chicks are not bantams, but are bigger than that. I cant remember exactly what the guy at Wabash said they were but they are really cool! Medium chicks that will lay green medium eggs. Fuzzy little gals too. I have them inside and need to slowly integrate them outside but I don't have a way to do so yet and it is really getting hot out there here in Houston Texas.
Thanks.
Later Chickadees.

from carlyss louisiana.. first suggestion would be not to put it next to your house. reason being the flys are bad in our area already when you put chickens in the mix the flys will hang around the coop. other than that mine our outside they are about 3 months old and enjoy it just make sure they have shade to get in and plenty of food and water, because its was 110 degrees here yesterday and will stay around 100 all week this week... enjoy your new babbies they grow so fast

Perhaps your girls are "Ameraucana" or Easter Eggers? I agree about putting the coop away from the house. Chickens are not the cleanest critters in the world

. Just wait for the first molt... feathers everywhere! It's worth it though, even the flies!

Best wishes!
