I've been bitten by the bug and can't wait to get my chickens. 6 to be shipped in April so have to get hubby on the stick building my coop. I've looked at hundreds, I'm sure. Too many decisions!!!

Good luck with your future chickens! What breeds are you getting?

You've got time to build a coop before they arrive but, more importantly if they are day old chicks you will need a brooder to raise them in/heat lamp etc. Once they are fully feathered out they can go out to the coop.

We started last year and this has been a wonderfully resource. If had one question it would have been ,"do the prefab, do it your self kits coops work and do they stand up th weather.? I did not ask before and am stuck will one until I can finish the second, which I just started. My point ask anything before you put out Money. Being on here has saved me time, money, and even a chicken.
