Hi! New chicken mom here!

My name is Maddy! I got a chicken coop for Christmas this morning and I am looking for tips on building my little chicken family I grew up with pigs but this is my first experience with chickens so any tips are definitely welcome. I would like to have some silkies and I maybe want to pair them with a breed that produces more eggs, any suggestions?

Hiya, Maddy, and welcome to BYC!!

I raise silkies and once researched what egg layer chickens would be as nice and friendly as my silkies, and found I'd get Speckled Sussex. I'm sure there are many breeds though.
