Hello! Im excited to now be a part of this online community finally! I’ve been researching and learning so much and decided it was time to join after finding most of my information here 
1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Our family (myself, my husband, our 2 young boys) is new to raising chickens but I’ve ALWAYS wanted them. We just received our little chicks in mid-September.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? We currently have 5 chicks. We ordered females from MyPetChicken but I have the unfortunate suspicion that 1 is a male!
(3) What breeds do you have? I did TONS of research to find the friendliest, sweetest breeds & got a lot of info from this site! We went with 1 black australorp, 1 blue Easter Egger (male suspect), 1 buff Orpington, and 2 buff Brahma bantams!
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? So far, we are loving their little personalities starting to shine through and when they flap up onto our laps to say ‘hi!’
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I’m a current stay at home mom, former Kindergarten teacher (7years!), and I love gardening, being outside with my family, baking holiday cookies, reading, & traveling (especially the BEACH!). I’ll need guidance from y’all about how to still be able to take family vacations while being chicken parents.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. My name is Jessica & my husband is Billy. We’ve been married for 11.5 years and have 2 fun little boys, Phoenix 10, and Leo 7. We have a mini goldendoodle named Thor because we are huge Marvel fans. We named all our chicks after Marvel characters too, Carol, Pepper, Natasha, Wanda, & Shuri
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I am SO excited to be a part of the BYC community! I wanted to join because I found myself finding almost all the answers here when I googled my questions during my research stage. We actually used advice and experiences from members here to do many things to get ready for the chicks and continue their care! Glad to be here
