Hi there! Im new here, not extremely new to chickens as Ive had them before, but new to a lot of the breeds. I do have a few questions. One pertains to the Yokohama species. How do Yokohamas fair in hot weather? Another is how Silkies hadle hot summers and cold winters, we live in CA so it doesnt snow. I dont have any chickens now but we are moving where we have some land so I will be able to get chickens again! Im just researching breeds right now and will probably buy from a hatchery or private breeder. Also kind of a random questionhow do roosters fair living together, 2 roosters only with an adequete amount if space? Just wondering because I used to have two roosters together with several hens and they always did very well together. Sorry I didnt know where to post these questions.

I haven't personally raised them but there's a few people in my area who breed them. I'm in Texas so during the summer it gets well over 110 degrees. Their birds seem to do fine with proper shelter and fresh cool water

Welcome to BYC. Silkies seem to handle temperature extremes quite well given proper shade in the summer and coop protection in the winter. Two roosters raised together MAY coexist peacefully.
