We are new to chickens, but have an old coop we are trying to shore up.
I'll try to put the picture here.
It is on cement, and my first question is, is cement floor ok?
My family is my 2 adult girls, 1 son-in-law, 3 grandchildren ages 9 to 13.

Hello! Welcome to BYC! I would think cement would be fine as long as there is plenty of organic bedding such as flake pine shavings, hemp bedding. Best of luck with your upcoming flock!

A good layer of pine shavings or hemp bedding or a mix on top of the concrete should be fine. The concrete floor will also keep digging predators out.

Hi, it's nice to have an old coop already in place you can remodel. I agree with the other greeters, you'll want some sort of material on the concrete floor so the chickens will have something softer to land on when they jump off a roost. Thanks for joining us!
