Hi new to chicken keeping and the forum although been reading allot of info on here thought I would share the building of my set up
I uses cut Owen telegraph poles for the posts railway sleepers to raise ground level so I could fill it with wood chips the fencing is heavy duty farm wire the fence I used my trusty chain saw and cut up some soft wood logs to make it using half lap joints and big hinges
I've been putting a roll of turf in there couple of times a week that that seem to like laying on and eating
Bought a fee different breeds that I confess I do t know the names of most of them feeding meal worm layer pellets fresh veg mixed pecking seeds had them a week or 2 and by all accounts all are laying getting 6-10 eggs a day from 11 birds
