Hi All,

well today is my first day here on this site.
I'm in New Zealand and my family and I have 3 chooks, Red Island Reds in our urban backyard. We have had them for a month now and really love them.
I don't know why we didn't get chooks a lot earlier.

They have been good layers, I'm guessing their are about 5 mths old now. were told that they were 12 weeks old when we were given them, but my guess is that they were a little older.

Most days we get 2 eggs. Did for 1 week get 3 eggs a day, but that has dropped back to 1-2 eggs.

Does anybody know of any websites that you can use as a log to record the number of eggs one gets? I do use a diary at the moment.

Here's one of my girls:

Not sure about the website for counting eggs per day...although there is a thread here that asks "how many eggs did you get ' . I actually have a friend here in Montana , that is from New Zealand.....she's a blast and her DH always loves it when they go back to visit her family ! Something about "wonky " ?!! Glad to have you here ...I'm sure you'll learn alot , and make many friends !
