Hi New Member Here from Northeast Michigan!

Welcome, I am also in Michigan and my Barred Rocks do well in our weather. They are cold hardy but also tolerant of the summer heat with some shade and water.
Fellow Michigander😃 nice to meet you.Thank you for sharing this info with me, I appreciate it. Do you raise for eggs, meat or pure joy, if I may inquire?

I'm new to Backyard Chickens, still figuring out how to post and reply. I am in the Michigan Thread on the suggestion of another Michigander, so Hello🤓
We are on in thee Northeast of the mitten only ten miles inland from Lake Huron. I have experience with Rhode Island Reds, Leghorns and Guineas. It's been a long time and it was in Arizona. We are very excited for spring to come and to get our first chicks! We can have 8 chickens, and don't want roosters (were advised not to have any). We want egg layers and meat. Any suggestions are welcome as to best breeds in Michigan. Thank you. Looking forward to chatting with you all.
