Welcome to BYC!!(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
My son and I got our first chickens in the spring, which were older chickens but were not laying yet. Then I order 5 chicks from Stromberg nursery. We got them Aug 8th. The chicks are Cinnamon Queens, were suppose to be 5 hens but we think we got a couple of roosters too.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We 11 all together
(3) What breeds do you have? Cinnamon Queens for sure. The older ones are all mixed breeds we think
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
The joy they bring, they are comedy gold at times. And of fresh eggs.
We live in northern Illinois. Where it gets cold in the winter. I worry about the chickens as it can get really cold here.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
