Paper towels are fine for now, but soon they will start tearing them up and then you can put a thin layer of wood shavings down for them. They'll love that.. deep shavings are for later in the coop. Have fun here and with your new little chookies!

from WI. I'd love to add Speckled Sussex to my mini flock and Welsummers but I'll have to wait with that. Living in town I can't have a lot of chickens

You should be able to stop using the paper towels in the brroder and switch to wood shavings (no cedar, wood with aromatic oil is not good for birds and small critters). Do you have a coop yet? They will grow up so fast.....
