Last year, in 2012, I got my first chicken, Lily. She was an Araucana, and we thought she was a hen, we weren't positive yet when she passed away due to my dog. She was from McMurray Hatcheries, which is where my grandpa gets his chickens. He has several Pearl White Leghorns and got an 'oddball' with each order. Lily was one of the 'oddballs' and he gave her to me.
I currently have four chickens, which he got me for Easter this year. Two New Jersey Giants, a Light Brahma, and an Araucana.

This is the coop.

The roo is Ash and the hen is Charcoal.

This is Cookie, my Araucana.

This is Cream with Charcoal.

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan

I would venture to guess that your Araucana is actually an Easter Egger (EE), a mixed-breed bird that lays eggs of possibly several colors including green.

Thanks everybody! I'm glad to be here. 1muttsfan, yes they are sometimes called Easter Eggers. And as for my dog, I caught her chasing chickens a few days ago. Sigh. I think she is jealous over the attention my chickens get. When she gets in trouble we tie her up as punishment, so she is tied right now.
