HI...new mother to 20 baby peeps!

I'm Dianne and in 2 weeks am going to try my hand at raising 19 baby egg layers and 1 baby rooster (boyfriend demanded we get at least 1 rooster). We converted our old smokehouse into a chicken coop and are fencing in a nice big area fpr them to go outside to. Will need lots of advice as we go along tho!

Yup, you will probably get more rooster than you expected. Where are your chicks coming from? Most hatcheries ship in lots of 25. If less than that are ordered, they add extra roosters to fill the box.

I ordered 15 chicks from mypetchicken.com and r getting 5 from a local co-op. I have no experience in this at all, but I paid extra for them to be sexed right! LOL If I get more than one rooster i have a friend that lives about 1/2 mile away that said they would adopt them. Not that I don't like roosters...i have sleep issues and the rooster next door and I have issues! We live in Western Maryland and I am very excited to get my peeps!
