hi new to all this looking for advice

A friend and I decided to start hatching recently. I have 2 chickens I bought from a lady who said they are ameraucana one hen one rooster. I will post pics soon but need opinions on ameraucana or EE she lays white, green, pink, and brown eggs all smaller then my road island red eggs.

How old is she? Looks like Ameraucana. Are you sure she isn't crossed with something else?

I was told 4 months for both when I bought them so 7 months now. And no I'm not sure.

I just searched your questions and found a great forum that discusses this. I can't figure out how to post you a link. I put in the search "does what you feed ameracauns agfect the color of their eggs". Scrolled down a bit and there is a thread that explians why they lay different colors. Sorry I couldn't figure out how to post the link. Hope this helps.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. Your bird is an Easter Egger. True Ameraucanas lay only blue eggs. There is a good article explaining the difference at http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2011/09/ameraucana-easter-egger-or-araucana.html. Easter Eggers are my granddaughter's (pictured in my avatar) favorite chickens. She loves their different colored eggs. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
