Hi i'm Drew and Ijust heard about this forum. I live in New York and two years ago my daughters thought it would be a good idea to get chickens. I wanted nothing to do with it, but a few days later the chicks were in a large rubber tub in their room, so I got started on building their coop and run. I had 10 chickens but recently lost two. I let them roam my fenced in back yard during the day and usually without any problems. Last week a hawk got one of them, and prior to that one just dropped over and died(still not sure why, but after doing some research it seems it could have been either egg bound or sudden death syndrome, if that's a thing. I love them now and take the best care of them I can. Coop and run are very secure, coop is heated when it drops below 40 degrees etc. Glad to be in this forum nd look foward to the support.
