Heres my Bobwhite Quail



Roo, or Hen??? Hes a beautiful boy!

He doesn't crow, but he does do his bobwhite noise when he sees me in the morning. I love him! I gave his a bowl of dirt, some cabbage in a bowl, a pint water container, and a tray FULL of gamebird food. He isn't to spazzy around me, but is still very. Just not as much as before. I love his gray feathers!!......... Will they stay like that????

THAT is a beautiful girl!! She has all her adult feathers, so it looks in the pic, and that is the color she will stay for the rest of her life. Enjoy HER! LOL

If she is only 4 months old, as you had thought, she won't start laying eggs until fall or possibly til next spring. Yeah, they mature late. But when she does, offer up some cuttle bone for calcium, for those hard egg shells.

YAY!! Its a girl!..... Shouldn't be to hard to find a male bob white around........... Now to rename her lol. There was one that looked like the one in your avatar. Guessing he was the male. He was the second to die. Wish I would have got them then.... Oh well.
