(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I actually just help my uncle on his farm. He has chickens and i'm all new to this experience but I really do enjoy helping my folks.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

I don't have any of my own. Hoping maybe I can start my own chicken "project" with a little help from my Uncle. Mainly use his land but I have my own variety of pretty color laying egg chickens.

(3) What breeds do you have?

I really want to get some Swedish Isbars. My Uncle has Golden Comets all egg layers and a Rhode Island Red Rooster, few other types of neat chickens.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

My Uncle asked me to research him different chickens, since that I kind have been interested in different chicken breeds. I like the idea of "exotic" chickens. Rare hard to find types. Also i'm interested in colored egg laying chickens. It's different so I find it appealing and exciting.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I play guitar, compose music, shoot basketball, I also like to shoot/upgrade my Ruger 10/22 takedown.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I'm very family oriented, I love to help my family. I have two dogs, Sunny a Papillion, Border Collie Mix and Claire Bear a Yorkie.

Welcome Jon, how nice that you have a Papillion - don't see many here outside of dog shows. I know I have heard that name "Clare Bear," before but, my senior brain can't remember where.

It just came to me. Noah's ( horn rimmed glasses) daughter "save the cheerleader," was Clare Bear. Of course "Heroes." I loved that show and look how famous Sylar was become ( Spock in Star Trek movies). No stopping my brain now.

I'm slow but sooner or later, things come back to me. Now I am feeling very good about myself - unless I find out nothing I just wrote was true. :gig
