Hi, newbie to BYC here😁

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Not new to chickens but have helped my sisters raise their chick's from when I was in middle school, so about 20 yrs ago.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 2 chickens so far.

(3) What breeds do you have?
1 miniature bantam
1 ISA brown

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Everything, because not only we benefit but our chickens do too because they become part of our family.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Fishing, diving, pretty much anything with the ocean. And arts and crafts too.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I've been married for 16 years and we have 6 children, 5 boys and 1 girl. Our pets are our chickens. I work for the county in the parks and rec division. I am really happy to be here.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found out about BYC through a google search I did trying to help a friend figure out what was wrong with her chicken. I have known about BYC for several months and I finally joined after having our own chickens for the past 2 months.

First off, your bantam is BEAUTIFUL! And, he clearly enjoyed posing for the camera! I also appreciate that you said two chickens "so far." I meant to get three, started instead with four and now have, let's just say, many.

To a landlocked Iowan, the whole ocean thing sounds cool. In fact, it sounds like you have a pretty good life overall -- chickens, family, interesting job.
