In the Brooder

This is our second year with our chickens. We learn something new all the time. Love to share.

Cochin Bantam, Silver Duckwing Standard Pheonix. Easter Egger, a few unknown
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I found the site looking for information about our Silver Duckwing Standard Pheonix hen.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I don't have many hobbies. Most of the creative things I do are connected with my work. I crochet and do macrame for pleasure.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have 3 cats and 2 ducks, a male Rouen and a female Pekin. I am an artist. I live on the family farm where I help care for my folks and our critters. We raise our chickens and ducks for their eggs and feathers, which I incorporate into my artworks. I am a chandler (candlemaker). I also create visual art in a variety of mediums, drawing, colored pencil, jewelry, mosaics, sewing purses and bags, gourd art, natural wood furniture, and accessories.
