Been coming here for a couple years now, what a great resource this place is!
I never had any experience with chickens until I moved in with my parents two years ago to help around the house. Mom had had chickens before and missed them so we got a dozen chicks at the feed store. Suddenly I'm a chicken tender!
When I went online looking for "how-to do everything" chicken info, I kept ending up here. Being the introvert that I am, I lurked, a lot. Finally though it was impossible to resist the lure of the bright lights of the big coop anymore so here I am, officially signed up!
We live on a couple acres in rural Vermont, close to town, but not too close. We currently have six chickens, two cats, and a dog.
Hobbies? The chickens of course, lol.
Our current flock consists of one black sex link, the only hen left from our original dozen (friggin foxes!) and five new youngsters (age and breed uncertain) we got from a neighbor to keep her company.
Anyhow, that's the basics. Looking forward to continuing to learn from everybody here, and maybe even being able to help someone else in return.
