My fiance and I recently got our first 3 chicks, Florence, a Rhode Island Red, Jailbird, a Barred Plymouth Rock, and 'Merica, an Ameraucana. They're about 22 days old now, and already full of personality! We currently have them in a brooder we built to fit on top of my long dresser, it's about 4' long and 18' wide, with plexiglass sliding doors so we can see them from the front and have easy access to their food and water dishes. We call it chick-o-vision, and we have actually sat in front of it and watched them while eating dinner a couple times!
Anyway, we are very excited about being new chicken parents, and probably almost equally excited that this website exists. I look forward to reading your posts, and making some of my own.
