Hey there everybody,

I'm Lovare and I'm a super nooby chicken owner. For my birthday I got 4 Serama chickens, 1 mother hen and her 3 chicks. I'm trying to tame them at the moment.

I'm looking forward to reading and talking about chickens!

Hi and Welcome to Backyard chickens. You may want to check out the "American serama " thread to find out how others raise them., depending on climate some have theirs outside in breeding colonies, others have them in cages inside a building. They are Big birds in a tiny package.

Hi Lovare, I'm also very new to chickens and had to Google the serama breed to find our what it looks like.. What a pretty bird!!
 
I agree they're super pretty! About as big as a pigeon when they're full grown but so curious and loving! Here's one of my chicks checking out what i was doing on my phone while I was sitting in the yard. It flew right onto my lap! The rest was sitting under my chair :P They're so cute! <3
