Hi, I've been following this forum for a while now and think it's great

So now I have finally come out of the shadows and would like to share my little family. We live in Australia, enjoyng the end of Spring.

My newest babies are 7 weeks old and are Lucy a Rhode Island Red (named after the greatest redhead on earth, Lucille Ball of course!), Molly a Light Sussex and Violet an Araucana.

This is the first time I've had any so little, all advice is greatly accepted!

I also have 3 year old Lilly an Isa Brown.

Until last year we also had Shiela who was supposed to be asn Isa Brown but is most definately a big white bitsa girl!

Sadly, we lost her to cancer. Yes we are the type of family who takes their chooks to the vet when they are sick and walk out with a $90 bill to have her put to sleep quietly with a needle. I'd never make it as a farmer!

Tonight is the babies first night sleeping outside in the henhouse. Until now, they have been spending the days outside and come in side at night. But today the weather was a beautiful 36 degrees (I thing that's about 97 degrees fahrenheit) and tonight is quite warm. Tomorrow we are expecting it to be 39 degrees (102 degrees f).

Keeping my fingers crossed the pics work out ok!!

Molly, the Light Sussex (I'm hoping the bald spots cover soon, not very elegant for such a girl!

And finally,

Violet, the Araucana. Definately the biggest sook! Will sit on you hand until you tip her off! She's a lot smaller than the other 2. I'm not sure exactly how big she will get. I don't anyone else over here that has them.

That's my story...

Wish me and my babies luck for their first night out of the nursery!

It is so much fun coming to a forum that has people from so many parts of the world..Man I wish is was spring here already!!!lol I do love the winter and the snow we get but I cant wait until spring comes again. I am going to pacify myself with hatching some of my own eggs over the winter.. Welcome again and you have some beautiful birds!!! Jenn
