hi there i want to introduce myself .

Not sure where to start .I have a rooster who is about 9 months old .recently he has been wanting to attack me .anyone knows why .I dont hsve any chickens but I do have two ducks one male and one female .advice would be appreciated. Thx

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Sorry about your rooster. The job of the rooster is to protect his flock of hens. And sometimes they see you as someone that could hurt his flock, so they come after you. He doesn't believe you are superior to him and he wants to keep you in your place. These types of roosters are dangerous to you and also to any little kids that might be nearby. It is all in your body language. I don't suggest you keep an aggressive rooster. There are techniques to training roosters but there is no guarantee he will respond. There are plenty of nice roosters out there than need a good home. No sense in keeping a mean one.

Your rooster is probably attacking because he considers you to be an enemy and thinks that he is dominant. He should be at sexual maturity around now, so his hormones are likely kicking in. You may be able to make him respect you, but he may continue to be agressive. Here are some articles on handling roosters:

X2 on Wyandottes7's advice. Aggressive behavior is unwelcome, but definitely not uncommon with roosters.
