Hi there

Hello there and welcome to BYC! :frow

So sorry for your losses. :hugs It must have been heartbreaking for you.

Good luck with the hatch, definitely keep us posted on it! :jumpy

Good morning, and welcome to BYC. Good luck with the incubation. You may want to consider hot wire as protection around your pen. It's very likely that the dogs will return some time in the future.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Have you installed a predator apron around the coop and run to keep out future digging predators? Domestic dogs are some of the worst chicken predators out there.
Hi.. yes we did that the very next day and also poured concrete under the gate which is where they dug in. A friendly neighbor was kind enough to give me two 5 month old “ mutts” 🥰 and another neighbor gave us a roo. So at least I have a few to keep me company til the babies arrive.

Yes we’re actually looking into that now. But there are several factors we ha e to consider. One being our own dogs which are friendly to the chickens and another being the chickens themselves when we let them out to graze. We don’t want fried chicken

The chickens won't get fried! I know that is a valid concern if you have no experience with using electric fences. I run 10,000 volts through my poultry netting. Any chicken that touches that fence never does it a second time and the others that saw it happen avoid the fence afterwards.
