Hello! My name is Cait. I'm a new owner! I currently have 9 chickens/chicks.....2 silkies, 1 silkie frizzle, 1 silkie frizzle showgirl, 3 black australorps, and 2 lavender orpingtons. The silkies are approximately 2.5 months old, and the australorps and orpingtons are about 3.5 months old. My husband and I have always wanted chickens (eventually a small farm) and finally have the opportunity to do so now that we've moved to a new location with a much larger lot.

We also have three cats (all that require special care due to medical issues) and one hermit crab that's been with us for a decade now. Before we got our chicks, we've lurked on this website to learn and prepare ourselves to raise healthy chickens and to ensure they have a very comfortable life and the best care, like we do with all of our pets. Now that we are up and rolling, I've decided to go ahead and make an account! :)

Welcome to this great site full of information and good advice. Your farm sounds really great and so do your Chickens. I only have ducks but love hearing about other people's flocks. I am glad that hear that you want healthy chickens as the is the goal for anyone that loves their birds. Good luck with your animals.
