Hello out there! I'm new here and relatively new to chickens. I have a few hens that I got late last year. I'm enjoying them so much that I've decided to get 2 or 3 more. This time I'm getting chicks, hopefully this month! Totally new to the chick raising and a bit nervous with lots of questions. My favorite breed are the Wyandottes and am thinking I'd like to get one of those for one of my "chick pics". I welcome any suggestions for the others! I like fancy and unusual chickens but I live in town so they have to be able to tolerate "backyard life".

Silkies and cochins are very beautiful, don't fly to well, and can certainly tolerate ''backyard Life''

Welcome to the group!!

Silkies and cochins are very cool and I would love to have one, but boy are they hard to come by. I may be resigned to getting my chicks from a local feed store. Thanks for the welcome!

I spoke to someone last night who is willing to ship chicks. They are located in VA. Let me know if you're interested and I can give you there profile name!

Cool! It was BorderBrigade. Hope you find exactly what you are looking for!
