I'm pretty new at raising chickens. They were always around when I was growing up but I had no interest in them.

We got our flock of Rhode Island Reds back in November 2014. 8 hens and 2 roosters. It was love at first sight for me!! I'm even trying to hatch some chicks for the first time. I'm on Day 7

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Lovely bird in your pic, very handsome. Wishing you the best of luck with your hatch, incubating and hatching eggs is so much fun and it's fantastic when you see them hatch. Watch out for the incubating addiction creeping up on you, it certainly did with me!!

Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat, I'm sure you will love it here :frow

I'm glad you could join us.

That's a handsome rooster! The Rhode Island Red is such an excellent breed of chicken. My hatchery Rhode Island Red has been a very good egg layer and has had a decent tempearment. Good to hear that you've been enjoying yours, too.

Incubating eggs can be lots of fun (and addicting!)! Hope the rest of the incubation and hatching goes well. How many eggs are in the incubator?
