I promised I would put up some pictures of my Bantams that I raise, but have been really busy trying to help my husband with the new Bantam coop. I have feather legged bantams that include (2) black frizzle cochin roos, (2) porcelain d'Uccle roo & hen and (6) red bantam cochin (2) hens (4) roos. Right now I have them in a temporary area which was used to cover and store my husband's most prized big man tools.........sorry honey, but this gets you in gear to get my coop done. I have always loved my feather legged bantams and silkies, but this year I decided to get some white crested black polish bantams and other assorted polish bantams. As we watched them grow up and feather out, we were so excited seeing the top crest of their heads turn into what we call a top hat. He loved it so much, that he went out and bought me a little more of a different

color. They are still in the brooders and some of them are ready to be introduced to my first ones. I will post

update pictures of them as soon as I can. I will also put up the pictures of the coop we are making for them. It is huge, but we have to separate the polish from the feather legged, because I was told that the polish bantams are aggressive to other chickens. I haven't seen that yet, but I still have them apart at the time. If anyone knows more about the aggression of the polish bantams, I would appreciate any knowledge of polish bantams as I can get. Well here are a few pictures I took while cleaning their coop and I hope you like. Still trying to figure this site out and hope I'm doing the right.

Great photos!

I haven't had Polish (of any size), but have read that they are often picked on because they do not see well...with that giant top hat. I don't think I have ever read about them picking on others.

I have a question for you...how are all of those roos? Are they friendly? Or do they like going after your legs?

I tried I think 4 different d'uccle roosters, and they were all nasty demons.

Sorry it has taken me long to get back with you, but we are so busy getting the coop ready before winter comes. To answer your question, I put the polish on one side and the feathered on the other side and have a chicken wire separation wall that is about 4' tall and every so often I will go out to check on them or feed/water and they are actually all eating, perching and drinking together. I have more roos then I wanted, but they all were raised together. While they were still in the brooders, one of the black feathered started his peeking order and was too rough. So, I had other pullets in another brooder and he is still with them in their own coop. Lets just say, he is a happy camper and boy did he get big. Not sure if it is because of the hens are full size or what, but they are happy and those our his females and no one else. :)
